as quoted by Ocean Vuong, "queerness, in a way, saved my life. often we see queerness as a deprivation, but when i look at my life, i saw that queerness demanded an alternative innovation. i had to make alternative routes; it made me curious; it made me ask, 'is this enough for me?'" queerness is such a big part of my life and i don't know where'd i be without it. this shrine is dedicated to my queerness, a love letter if you would.
i came out when i was six years old as queer, and later came out at 9 as transsexual. (yes i use the term transsexual and transvestite. i do not care if that upsets you.) having come out so young and so openly, i've faced oppression almost my whole life (my mom is gay so that too lol) and juggled figuring out my identity. fairly recently i realized i do not need to label myself as queer to be accepted into the community. the best way to describe me is a boy who is also and a girl and a girl who is also a boy and a boy who is also a thing and a thing who is also a dog. if i had to identify i would identify as a fragment of your imagination and a Mexican Mango Geek Bar.
